Thoughtful Virtual Therapy for Maternal Mental Health
Thoughtful Virtual Therapy for Couples
Support for mothers feeling overwhelmed by postpartum depression, anxiety, or prenatal stress.
When Motherhood Feels Overwhelming
You may feel trapped in a cycle of constant worry, exhaustion, or deep sadness. The joy you expected feels distant, and the emotional weight of pregnancy or early parenthood is getting harder to carry alone.
You deeply care about your family, but feel caught in intrusive thoughts, mood shifts, or unhealed emotional strain.
This can be a place to slow down, process what is happening in your mind and body, and begin working toward a place of healing and calm.
Feeling Truly Understood
When mothers begin to feel understood, the transition into parenthood can start to shift.

Meet Kathleen
Kathleen Cogan
I’m Kathleen Cogan, a licensed professional counselor providing online therapy to clients in Texas, Virginia, and South Carolina. My background in political science, feminist studies, and community organizing continues to shape how I think about reproductive mental health, parenthood, and the contexts in which women live.
As a feminist, I believe the body we live in and the world around us matter. The societal pressures on mothers, our identities, and our reproductive experiences all shape how we understand ourselves. At the same time, there are core human needs we all share, including the need to feel supported, grounded, and understood.
My approach is collaborative and relational. I see each person as the expert of their own life, and therapy as something we create together. Often, this includes paying attention not just to words, but also to perinatal mood shifts, nervous system regulation, and physical experiences that may be harder to put into language.
In our work together, the focus is on helping you make sense of what you are feeling, reduce the shame and isolation of maternal distress, and move toward a more grounded and peaceful experience of parenthood.

Feminist therapy recognizes that maternal mental health doesn't exist in a vacuum. It acknowledges how societal expectations, unrealistic standards of "good motherhood," physical body changes, and systemic pressures impact your well-being, helping you release shame and reclaim your autonomy.
